| Grapefest 2009 |
Grapefest is the annual food and wine festival held in Grapevine, TX. This year in 2009 it was held from September 17th through September 20th and was located in beautiful downtown Grapevine.
The big draw to the event are the more than one hundred wineries who have come to participate in the "People's Choice Wine Tasting" competition. Here, the public can purchase a ticket to be a judge, touring around the pavillion sampling the different wines and voting for their favorite one. As we walked around the pavillion, the McCort crew noticed that there were groups of patrons. For example, one of the groups we came across was a group of ladies who were all apart of a wedding party and were using Grapefest as an annual gathering to help them keep in touch.
There were also a large variety of foods and artisans swelling their wares. We even had the opportunity to see the public get an opportunity to stomp on their own batch of grapes.
The event is definitely made for the whole family. There were three different venues for a variety of music scheduled, foods from those needing a fork to those made for eating while you walk, and a children's area with an interactive show.
And don't forget to take notice of the classic look of Grapevine as you stroll down the blocked off main strip. With one of the older and most beautiful courthouses in the whole state, there is more to catch the eye than just the artist's booths.
This inexpensive event is a must attend, if for no other reason to get the chance to stomp your own batch of grapes into the beginnings of your own vintage of wine.
