St Patty's Parade '09

St Patrick's Day is the great Irish tradition that seem to have spread all over the world to people who aren't even Irish. A holiday that has become known for its tradition of drinking. A party only matched by the great Mardi Gras held in New Orleans every February. After all is said and done, St Patty's still reigns supreme. Mostly because unlike Mardi Gras, St Patty's needs no particular town to call its festivities home.

In Dallas, TX though, a new tradition for this holiday has been started, back in 1979 to be exact. What started as a beer run has turned into a long standing event on the Dallas Calendar. The event became so big in fact that the Dallas City Council actually shut it down. It wasn't until an organization of Greenville Ave businesses petitioned and pushed the city, with much help from the citizens, the parade was re-instated.

Here we present to you our video coverage from the crowd of the 2009 St Patty's Greenville Ave Parade.

That wasn't all for the day though. After all the floats, beads, and beers the crew wandered their way home to do the weekly podcast. And speaking of the wandering, we were thankful that we decided to take the public transportation after wandering turned into light stumbling.

After a little food to fill our stomaches, the CPWS crew set up Studio A for the evening's broadcast. That, of course, is when things went downhill. Cyber just insisted on showing everyone his new falic bath toy. That's when things really went downhill.
